What is public relations?
Public relations is an organized, strategic process of communications with a goal of developing mutually beneficial relationships between an organization and the publics or audiences it serves.
Too often, public relations is used to describe "publicity" or, more formally, media relations. But the practice of public relations goes far beyond "getting in the newspaper" or on the television newscast. It is a discipline of multi-faceted practice areas that complement each other in order to reach a stated communications goal.
For that reason, we recommend a range of practice areas in order to develop a coordinated, strategic public relations program.
